How Do You Onboard New Team Members Safely?

We focus on clear milestones so a new hire ramps in safely and quickly.

Day 0 to 1: Welcome, ID verification, fit checks for PPE, review of site rules, and assignment to a mentor.
First week: Shadow critical tasks, complete task-specific briefings, and demonstrate correct use of fall protection, lifts, or scaffolds as applicable.
By day 30: Complete any role-based courses, pass a short skills check, and be able to lead a simple pre-task plan.

Supervisors sign off on each milestone, and records are captured for traceability.

What Is Your Approach to Ongoing Safety Communication?

We maintain frequent, concise communication tied to the actual work.

Weekly Toolbox Talks, led by the foreman and sign-in required, focus on current tasks such as fall protection, lifts, or scaffold changes.
Daily huddles that review the job hazard analysis, permits, and any changes to conditions.
Near miss and good catch reporting, with quick stand downs when a trend or serious hazard appears.
Records and photos are stored in SafetyReports.com, with action items tracked to closure in Procore, and trends are reviewed monthly by the safety team.
